Philly is finally getting a monthly show via 8static of 2008 DesignPhiladelphia fame.
I’ll be doing live video for Animal Style’s performance at the first 2009 show.
January 10th, studio 34, West Philadelphia.
4 days of 8-bit madness can be found in NYC – December 4,5,6 & 7
I’ll be performing all 4 nights, with a line-up that will make your head spin!
I’ll also be teaching a “Make Your Own Visualist” workshop. The workshop will be based on my latest electronics “kit” where participants build a programmable, wearable 64 LED matrix to flash their own 8×8 pixel graphics on.
All tools and kits will be provided, or the kit can be had at the festival for those that have soldered before & want to build the kit on their own.
See you there!
Hot on the heels of the highly successful 8Static show here in Philadelphia, comes yet another Pulsewave. This one promises to be the highlight of the year, as it is a special Halloweenie Show with both No-Carrier & myself doing the visuals.
All creepie covers by Anamanaguchi, Nullsleep, Bit Shifter, Glomag, and an unknown uber-guest.
I’ve also donated a strange C64 to be beautified & raffled along with an incredible modded Gameboy.
Check out the info at www.pulsewavenyc.com and a new Rom Flier by No Carrier!
I’ll be performing at Eyewash *Lens* , a visualist event in held at Monkeytown on October 10th. The event is two shows, four visualists and a ton of music, and is held monthly in Williamstown, Brooklyn, NY.

I’ve asked Auto Da Fe to play two sets with me, and expose the uninitiated to a little Gameboy music madness. Should be a great show!
I’m splitting sets next Saturday with Paris of Voltage Controlled fame!
Should be a great show. It’s fashion week in NYC, so expect a little extra 8bit flair!
This set as well as the Less than Three show will highlight my newest breadboard design with 2 controllers, and an audio input. i’ve also graduated to a pro video mixer this week, thanks to craigslist.
See you there!
No Carrier does it again… a beautiful ROM serving as flier for this saturday’s show!
Here’s a sample video from my 3rd version of the Chipsynth Video Circuit. This Circuit has 2 processors, a line audio input for realtime modulation of graphics and two Nintendo 64 controllers for live performance manipulation.
The Video is captured live from the back of the mixer. The tune is Animal Style’s awesome “DMG Guitar” from his 8bitpeoples EP “Open Air” (8PB083)!
The red traces appear to be my poor choices in video compression not keeping up with the live graphics. But… you get the idea.
Openback posted some awesome video of minusbaby playing “Minha Caipirinha É Ótima (Very, Very),” and
minusbaby @ 08/08/08 from Timothy Caraballo on Vimeo.
some great shots on Flicker of the gig– found here: FLICKER of 08.08.08
It was a great show, with NO CARRIER and I doing joint visuals most of the night.
Joey of Animal Style fame has asked me to do visuals for his set at Less than Three in NYC. It looks like I’ll be doing visuals for the whole show now. 23-August at the Tank (where ever that may be! ) I’ll post the location as I get the info.
For Animal Style’s set, I’ll be using my new audio-reactive circuit. Rock-solid output at 08.08.08 has prompted me to keep programming for this newest single chip hardware iteration. Perhaps a little old-fashioned laptop video for The Fearsome Sparrow and Data Dog. –only the next week of programming will tell.
More info on my new breadboard visual circuit to come!
<3 <3 <3 See you there!
I’ll be doing visuals for 080808 in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties on (you guessed it) August 8th!
From 7pm to 11pm A slew of 8 bit goodness will be pouring out of the park at N. 3rd & Poplar St.
8GB, Animal Style, Auto Da Fe, Nullsleep, Cheap Dinasaurs, and MinusBaby – yes six of them!
Visuals will be split between myself and No Carrier who is is making his way toward 8bit promo legend.
Thanks Don!

Bring a blanket! It’s free!!
Here’s some info on the next confirmed show I’m doing visuals for in Philadelphia:
